Cross Country Runner Alexandra Zuk ’15 Races to Fourth, Qualifies for CIF

On Wednesday, November 6, the Cross Country Teams competed in the Mission League Finals (Mission Cluster #3) at Woodley Park. Junior standout Alexandra Zuk continued her ascent as one of the area’s premier runners, finishing fourth to qualify for CIF Individuals. Zuk joined the Cross Country team this season after playing Field Hockey her freshman and sophomore years. Zuk had little idea how much success awaited her. She has been outstanding all season in both League and Invitationals, highlighted by a second place finish at the Santa Clarita Invitationals. On Wednesday, Zuk cut over a minute off her personal best time, running in the top 4 all race long. The top 6 finishers qualify for CIF. (official results pending)

The Girls Varsity was especially strong, with all runners feeling as though they had outstanding races. The entire team finished in the top half of the main pack. Following Zuk, the Eagles finished in this order 2) Hailey Bricker ’14; 3)   Madeline Larson ’15; 4.) MK Larson ’16; 5.) Rebecca Gerny ’16; 6.) Emily Tronson ’14; 7.)
