Dance Concert Tickets Now on Sale

Dance Concert 2014Chaminade Dance in concert  presents Fathoms, a Cirque du Soleil-style production of a story through dance. Childhood is full of many dreams and emotions, but what happens when life gets in the way? Follow the journey as the true gift of love is discovered in the most amazing places.

Shows are on the following dates:

  • Friday, May 2 at 7:00 p.m.
  • Saturday, May 3 at 7:00 p.m.
  • Sunday, May 4 at 2:00 p.m.
  • Friday, May 9 at 7:00 p.m.
  • Saturday, May 10 at 7:00 p.m.

Tickets are $20 for adults, $11 for students and $7 for children, and are available online through Vendini.

C-Notes Win First Place Gold

C-Notes San Diego 2 (2)The C-Notes won First Place Gold in their division at the Heritage Festival in San Diego this past weekend! They also won the Adjudicators Trophy for top scores by the judges.

The C-Notes enjoyed the Science Museum, IMAX theatre, Shopping and dinner in Old Town San Diego the day before the performance. The competition took place at Del Norte High School in San Diego on Saturday, April 5. The C-Notes enjoyed the sights at Sea World after the performance, followed by festival dinner and awards ceremony.

More than 1,100 students took part in the Heritage festival from California, Arizona and Oklahoma. The C-Notes are now eligible to perform at the National Children’s/Middle School Festival at Carnegie Hall on March 22, 2015. They will audition in September by DVD submission against “Gold” choir from across the USA to be the “Feature Group” at this performance.

Chaminade Senior Accepted to Juilliard

Last summer, Paige Borowski ’14 spent three weeks of her summer experiencing the Juilliard dream. Accepted to the school’s Summer Dance Intensive, she traveled to New York City to study classical ballet and modern dance. Today she received the phone call of a lifetime and was told that she has been accepted to The Juilliard School in New York, New York. Borowski is one of 12 girls to be accepted, among thousands of applicants around the world.

C-Notes Perform at Disneyland

On Friday, March 14, the C-Notes performed on the Thunder Ranch Jamboree Stage at Disneyland.They performed a program of “100 of years of Disney” as well as some gospel spirituals and a piece in Portuguese.

 

 

Drama Students Compete in Drama Teachers of Southern California Fall Festival

DTASC group photoOn October 26, Chaminade College Preparatory high school drama students competed in the Drama Teachers of Southern California Fall Festival (DTASC). They competed against 76 high schools in Southern California and placed fifth in the Open Musical category; were Semi-Finalist in Audition Monologues; and Semi-Finalist in AFI Top 100 Screenplays. Congratulations to the Chaminade DTASC team!
