Fleet-Footed Eagles Qualify

Chaminade’s all-junior team of Isaiah Bernard, Elijah Dunston, Harry Brockington and Terrell Newby ran their way to qualifying for State Championships in the 4 x 100-meter relay at the CIF-SS Divisional Finals at Mount San Antonio College.  They placed third in Division III and seventh overall, with a season-best time of 41.85.  Their time ranked them tenth in the State.

The Eagles ended their day placing a close second in the 4 x 400 relay to State leaders and Div. III team title champions Rio Mesa.  The team comprised of senior Jared Dinowitz (49.71), Isaiah Bernard (49.82), Elijah Dunston (48.75) and Terrell Newby (48.46) ran an impressive 3:16.43. This time ranked them second in the State and they also made the at-large mark to qualify for the State Championships.

Both relays qualified to compete at the Masters Meet to be held at Cerritos College on Friday, May 25, 2012. Running events start at 6:00 p.m.
