After another remarkable come from behind win against Serra, a team Chaminade had never beaten prior to Friday night, the Eagles (5-1) look to continue its winning ways against St. Paul. This will be the first of three games on the road for Chaminade and this game will not be easy as St. Paul will pose a difficult challenge. Although St. Paul (1-5) has gotten off to a slow start, the Swordsmen have played very tough competition such as powerhouse Mater Dei and have kept their games close and competitive.
The Chaminade defense will have its hands full with another tough running opponent. St. Paul’s Kurt Scoby is one of the strongest running backs in Southern California standing at 5’10 and 200 pounds. Scoby, only a junior, has the speed to light up defenses for major yards and already has two offers to Miami and Oregon State. Chaminade will continue to counter with its own run game as running back Terrell Newby looks to continue his excellent start to the season. Newby has already rushed for over 1000 yards in the season and is in the top 25 in California in rushing yards and attempts. The Chaminade defense also has done a superb job thus far at stopping the running game and hopes its success continues. The Eagles look to start off 2-0 in league play and will try to defeat St. Paul and move to 6-1 on the season.
