On Friday, December 6, Chaminade will face rival Junipero Serra in a rematch for the CIF Southern Section Western Division Championship. Last year, the two met each other in the final round of the CIF-SS championships, a game which the Cavaliers won. Though underdogs, the Eagles (11-2) are ranked 12th in the state and, hope to win this match-up. They face a tough opponent – Serra went undefeated in the regular season, the Mission League and are rank fifth in the state. However, the Eagles have had a very strong run in the playoffs beating Moringside, 71-8; Ventura, 36-3; and most recently Lompoc, 49-14.
The Eagles will travel to Gardena for the championship game. Presale tickets can be purchased through the Chaminade Athletic Office, and are $10 for adults and $5 for students and children ages 5 to 13. A parent rooter bus is available for $12, per person; seats may be purchased online. Students can purchase a rooter bus ticket through Student Activities.
Fox Sports Prime Ticket will televise the game at 7:00 p.m.
