Chaminade Wrestlers Grapple to Victory at League Championships

On Saturday, February 1, the Chaminade wrestling team competed in the Mission League Championship finals at Bishop Alemany High School. It turned out to be a monumental day for Chaminade with four wrestlers making it to the championship match. The majority of Chaminade’s wrestlers are freshman and sophomores.

Chaminade heads to the CIF Individual Championships on Friday, February 21. Out of 14 weight classes, Chaminade qualified eight wrestlers and one alternate.

Chaminade’s Medal winners at the Mission League Finals are:

1st Place – Jake O’Brien ’16 (160lb)

2nd Place – Jaidin Tharanee ’17 (106lb), Thomas Price ’16 (113lb),
Jacob Wong ’16 (138lb)

3rd Place – Andrew Giessinger ’16 (152lb), Conor Fairtlough ’17 (182lb),
Alex Morales ’16 (220lb), Alec Kohn ’15 (HWT)

4th Place – Noah Younesi ’15 (145lb)
