Chaminade Wrestlers Capture Individual and Team Victories at Mission League Championships

On Saturday, January 31, Chaminade Wrestlers competed in the Mission League Championships at Alemany High School. Eagles set a school record qualifying ten wrestlers and two alternates for the CIF tournament on February 20  and 21, at Lakeside High School in Lake Elsinore. It was a monumental day for Chaminade with four 1st place League Champions, three silver, and three bronze medalists. Eagle wrestlers went 4-6 in ten head-to-head matches against perennial powerhouse, Bishop Amat, who is currently ranked #1 in the CIF-SS Northern Division. While coming in second in team points to Bishop Amat, Eagles dominated valley rivals beating Crespi, Harvard Westlake, and Alemany.

1st Place – Thomas Price ’16  (120 lbs.), Jonathan Skidmore ’15 (160 lbs.),
Jake O’Brien ’16 (170 lbs.), Okalani Langi’ 15 (220 lbs.)

2nd Place – Jaidin Tharanee ’17 (106 lbs.), Jack Cheney’ 17 (113 lbs.),
Jacob Wong ’16 (138 lbs.)

3rd Place – Andrew Giessinger ’16 (152 lbs.), Jonathon Delgado ’16  (182 lbs.),
Alec Kohn ’15 (285 lbs.)

Alternates – Henry Zuniga ’18 (132 lbs.) and Josh Britt ’16 (145 lbs.)
