Monday, March 14 kicks off Kindness Week at Chaminade’s Chatsworth campus, during which the middle school Diversity Team will sponsor two activities.

The first activity involves morning greeters. Every day this week, members of the team, along with moderators Mrs. Shenouda and Mr. Norton, will be outside at the curb welcoming all students to school. They will welcome everyone with smiles, “good mornings,” and signs with fun phrases.

The second activity is called “Hands Across Chaminade.” Diversity Team members will go to each X-block every day throughout the week, and all students will have the opportunity to acknowledge their peers who have done good deeds or provided service or compassion for others. Students can write the names of the peers they wish to recognize on paper hands, which will then be collected and connected to form a chain to hang in the Student Center. This public recognition of the wonderful things the Chaminade community provides for each other demonstrates the Diversity Team’s mantra, “Be kind, respectful, compassionate, and have empathy for one another”.
