Today Chaminade College Preparatory hosted 120 students in the 5th, 6th, and 7th Grades at The Association of Catholic Students Councils’ (TACSC) Student Leadership Day. Students came from Chaminade’s middle school campus, as well as Bay Laurel, Our Lady of Lourdes, Our Lady of the Valley, St. Bernardine, St. Bridget, St. John Eudes, St. Mark, St. Rose of Lima, and Woodland Hills School to participate in a day of workshops and practice. Thirty of Chaminade’s high school students also took part in the day’s activities as leaders.
TACSC is a national Catholic youth leadership development and training organization. During the 2015-2016 academic year, it has held 11 Student Leadership Days, including the final session conducted today at Chaminade. Each leadership day was an opportunity for Middle School students to learn about servant leadership, the consequences of individual’s actions, diversity, finding personal strengths, conflict management, and problem solving.
