NJHS has Closing Ceremony

The National Junior Honor Society (NJHS) had their closing ceremony this month. Every year, NJHS awards tuition scholarships to two members who are going to Chaminade’s high school and exemplify the five characteristics of NJHS: leadership, scholarship, service, citizenship, and character. Erica Steinberg ’21 received $500 as the recipient of the Helen Foster Scholarship Award and Mary Brenna Cheney ’20 received $1,000 as the recipient of the Linda Barkan Scholarship Award. The NJHS is an organization that recognizes and encourages academic achievement while developing leadership and service skills. Students meet on a weekly basis during lunch to plan and conduct school and community service projects, exchange ideas, and plan learning opportunities. NJHS members are expected to emulate the characteristics of an NJHS member both at school and in the community. Chaminade’s chapter is open to returning 7th and 8th grade students whose cumulative GPA is 3.8 or higher.
