Lent 2018: Hope Will Rise

The Lenten season began with Ash Wednesday, on February 14. Chaminade College Preparatory hosted a prayer service at its Chatsworth campus, and a Mass at its West Hills campus

The theme for Lent this year is Hope Will Rise. As a community, Chaminade will focus on the graces God offers to us. This requires the habits of silence and reflection in order to discover the way in which we have accepted God working in us, loving us, and helping us see the beauty of our inner-self.  To celebrate hope during the Lenten season, the Office of Campus Ministry will provide prayerful events to help the Chaminade family experience God’s loving grace. A list of these activities is below.

  1. Chaminade students, faculty & staff- have your voices heard! Exercise your right to free symbolic speech and participate in the National School Walkout for gun violence on March 14 at 10am. We will be attending school in the morning, and then promptly walking out at 10 am and remain out for 17 minutes- for each life lost in the south Florida high school shooting. Leave class, march the hallways, sit outside, make noise, protest peacefully against the horrific gun violence that is rampant in our country. Get the congress’s attention and declare the truth: Enough is enough. Never again should a student be killed by gun violence.
