Girls’ Basketball Wins First Round Game

Chaminade C -on white- Eagles V2Chaminade’s Girls’ Soccer and Basketball teams played in CIF-Southern Section playoff games on Thursday, February 15. While Girls’ Soccer was defeated 4-0 by Redondo Union, Girls’ Basketball secured a 67-41 victory against Lakeside (Lake Elsinore).

The basketball team moves onto the second round of the CIF-SS Ford Girls Basketball Division 1 Championships. They face Santa Barbara on Saturday February 17, at home. The game tips off at the Uribe Sports Center at 6:00 p.m. Tickets are $10 per adult and $5 per child under 12-years-old.

Two Seniors Sign National Letters of Intent

Cole Reibenspies ’18 and Jared Stark ’18 signed their National Letters of Intent to play baseball. Reibenspies will play baseball for the United States Naval Academy; and Stark will play baseball for Linfield College.

Freshman Wrestler Becomes Chaminade’s First CIF-SS Masters Champion

Katja Osteen ’21 made Chaminade history on February 10 when she won the CIF Southern Section Masters. Osteen is the first Eagle to become a CIF-SS Masters champion. On her road to the title, Osteen defeated the returning California state champion, who was ranked 1st in the state.

Next up for Osteen is the 2018 CIF State Girls Championship in Visalia on February 23 and 24.

Girls’ Soccer and Girls’ Basketball in Playoffs

 

Eagle fans rejoice – Girls’ Soccer and Girls’ Basketball have extended their seasons with playoff games on Thursday, February 15!

Girls’ Soccer goes first with a 5:00 p.m. match against Redondo Union. The teams face-off in the first round of the 2018 CIF-SS Ford Girls Soccer Division 2 Championships. It is an away game for the Eagles.

At 7:00 p.m., Girls’ Basketball takes on Lakeside (Lake Elsinore) in the first round of the 2018 CIF-SS Ford Girls Basketball Division 1 Championships. As the number one seed in Division 1, the Eagles host the Lancers at the Uribe Sports Center (West Hills).

National Signing Day 2018

On National Signing Day, three Chaminade College Preparatory seniors signed a National Letter of Intent to play a sport at the collegiate level. Two of the student athletes play football, and one plays soccer.
