Chaminade’s Varsity football team has a new place to call home on the West Hills campus – a brand new locker room, complete with a video area for game films.
Featuring 65 red oak veneer lockers; a hanging area for clothes; a small, lockable cabinet for valuables; a seating area inside the lockers; and storage under the seats for their equipment, this 1,600 square foot locker room is a first-class space for a first-class team. The entire floor is covered with 3/8-inch thick rubber flooring.
The team saw their new space for the first time on Friday, August 17 during a blessing conducted by Father Jim Mueller. High School Princial, Brother Tom Fahy also spoke to the team and reminded them that they set the standard for Chaminade through their actions and conduct both on and off the field.
The locker room is located in a space that was made available during the 2011-2012 school year when Chaminade’s band moved to the new Tutor Family Center for the Performing Arts. Renovations of the area took place during the summer, and included the installation of showers. Thanks to the generosity of a Chaminade family, the project was realized in time for the 2012-2013 season.
