Ticket Sales for CIF-SS Basketball Finals

Chaminade C -on white- Eagles V2Tickets for this weekend’s CIF Southern Section basketball championships are on sale at the West Hills Athletics Office through Noon on Friday, March 4, 2016. Each ticket is $13 per adult or $7 per child/student. Both games will be held at the Felix Center, on the West Campus of Azusa Pacific University.

Take the 210 freeway to the Citrus Avenue exit. Travel north on Citrus Avenue, cross Alosta Avenue. Continue north on Citrus Avenue and turn left on Foothill Boulevard. The campus entrance is on the right, lined with white columns at 701 East Foothill Boulevard, Azusa, California.

 

Eagles Move on in CIF Playoffs

Chaminade C -on white- Eagles V2After a competitive and productive weekend, Chaminade’s Wrestling team, along with Boys’ Basketball, and Girls’ Basketball move on to the next round of CIF playoffs. Jake OBrien ’16 and Thomas Price ’16 both competed in the Masters Meet over the weekend. While Price lost in an elimination match 7-6, O’Brien qualified for the CIF State Championship in wrestling, which will be held in Bakersfield, starting Friday, March 4.

On Friday, February 26, Boys’ Basketball faced Rancho Mirage in the Division 3A semifinal. Their 64-58 win puts them in the championship game against Diamond Ranch on Friday, March 4. The game tips off at 8:30 p.m. at Azusa Pacific University.

Girls’ Basketball played at Sierra Canyon on Saturday, February 27 in an Open Division semifinal match-up. Chaminade won the game 63-29, and will face Long Beach Poly in the Open Division Championship on Saturday, March 5. The game tips off at 7:30 p.m. at Azusa Pacific University.

Eagle Athletics Update

CIF championships 2016 02-19

Chaminade athletics has had another busy week of CIF playoffs. After the CIF tournament championship last weekend, Chaminade wrestling sends two wrestlers, Jake O’Brien ’16 and Thomas Price ’16 to the Masters State Qualifier in Ontario. The Masters starts on Friday, February 26 and continues through Saturday.

After a first-round win over Long Beach Wilson, Girls’ Soccer traveled to Mater Dei on February 23. Their postseason run came to an end with a 0-2 loss.

Boys’ Basketball hosted Gabrielino in a CIF playoff match-up and came away with a 63-62 win. They travel on Friday, February 26 for a semi-final game against Rancho Mirage. The game tips off at 7:00 p.m.

Girls’ Basketball faced Etiwanda in the Open Division quarterfinal on Wednesday, February 24 and traveled out to Rancho Cucamonga. The Eagles won, 82-54. Their next CIF game is at 7:00 p.m. on Saturday, February 27, at Sierra Canyon.

Eagles Advance to Next Round of Playoffs

Chaminade C -on white- Eagles V2All three Chaminade teams won their games and move on to the next round of CIF playoffs. On Thursday, February 18, Girls’ Soccer hosted Long Beach Wilson at home and won their match on penalty kicks. They travel to Mater Dei on Tuesday, February 23 for a 3:00 p.m. game.

On Friday, February 19, Boys’ Basketball played Yorba Linda at the Uribe Center and came out victorious. Their 59-46 win propelled them into the next round where they face Gabrielino. The game tips off at 7:00 p.m. at the Uribe Center in West Hills.

Girls’ Basketball also won their CIF playoff game over the weekend. They beat Santa Barbara 81-45, at home. On Wednesday, February 24 the girls’ team travels to Rancho Cucamonga for a 7:00 p.m. game against Etiwanda High School.

Three Eagle Teams in CIF Playoffs

Chaminade C -on white- Eagles V2This week, three Chaminade teams host CIF playoff games at the West Hills campus. Girls’ Soccer faces the Long Beach Wilson on Vukelich Field at Booster Stadium on Thursday, February 18 at 5:00 p.m. On Friday, February 19, Boys’ Basketball tips off at 7:00 p.m. against Yorba Linda. Finally, Girls’ Basketball hosts Santa Barbara for a 7:00 p.m. match-up on Saturday, February 20. Both basketball games are at the Uribe Sports Center.

Boys’ Basketball defeated San Bernadino High School in the first round of playoffs on Wednesday, February 17 by a score of 66 to 57.

Update (2/9/16, 9:59 AM PST): Girls’ Soccer won their February 18 game against Long Beach Wilson on penalty kicks, 4-2. At the end of regulation and two overtime periods, the game was tied 3-3. Chaminade moves on to the second round of playoffs and faces Mater Dei in an away match on Tuesday, February 23 at 3:00 p.m.
