Three Chaminade Teams Headed to Playoffs

Get out your blue and orange because Girls’ Soccer and Girls’ and Boys’ Basketball have all made it to the CIF-SS playoffs!

The first playoff game features Girls’ Soccer, the defending Southern Section Division I Girls Soccer Champions. They finished second in the Mission League this year, and will face Mater Dei at home (West Hills) on Friday, February 21 at 3:00 p.m.

Later that night, the Boys’ Basketball team will play Mayfield High School at Mayfield (Lakewood) in the first round of the CIF-SS Open Division. Tip-off is at 7:00 p.m. Chaminade Boys’ Basketball finished second in the Mission League this season.

The Chaminade Girls’ Basketball team, fresh off their fourth consecutive Mission League title, will host Lynwood High School in the first round of the CIF-SS Open Division on Saturday, February 22. Tip-off at the Uribe Center (West Hills) is at 7:00 p.m. The Eagles are also last year’s Southern Section Division III-A Champions.

Girls’ and Boys’ Basketball to Play in Open Division Playoffs

The CIF Southern Section announced the 2014 Open Division Playoff teams on Friday, February 14, 2014. Both Chaminade Girls’ and Boys’ Basketball teams were selected. Among 572 schools, Chaminade is one of five to send both their girls and boys team to the Open Division. Playoff brackets will be announced Sunday, February 16.

Four Eagles Sign Letters of Intent

Four Chaminade seniors signed letters of intent to play men’s basketball, softball and women’s basketball at the collegiate level on Friday, November 15, 2013.

Jack Williams, a power forward on Chaminade’s Boys’ Varsity Basketball team will go on to California State University, Long Beach. Taylor White, Chaminade Softball’s catcher and shortstop will take her skills to the Ohio State University. Twin sisters, Christa and Kaylie Fandino will stay local and play basketball at California State University, Northridge. Christa Fandino is a guard and sister Kaylie is a point guard with Chaminade’s Southern Section Div. III-A Championship Girls’ Varsity Basketball team.

Three Tripleheadder Wins, Three Teams Advance

Chaminade hosted a tripleheader for State playoffs on Wednesday, March 6, 2013, and with three wins, all three Varsity teams advanced to the next round. Games will be played on Friday, March 8 and Saturday, March 9

Great weekend for the Eagles

On Friday night, Chaminade defeated second-seeded Oak Park 76-59 in the Division III-A semifinals to reach their first boys’ basketball final since 2009. They will take on St. John Bosco at the CIF-SS III-A Championship game Saturday, March 2 at 10 a.m. at the Anaheim Convention Center.

After defeating San Luis Obispo 64-40 on Saturday night, the girls’ basketball team advanced to the CIF-SS Championship for the first time in school history and will square off with St. Joseph of Lakewood on Wednesday, February 27 at 6:30 p.m. at the Anaheim Convention Center.

Congratulations to seniors Alex Fuentes, Mason Nystrom and Arashdeep Gill, all are going to the State Wrestling Championship March 1-2 at the Rabobank Arena in Bakersfield.
